Job Summary

  • Part-time (0.6 FTE) ongoing 3 days per week (Monday Tuesday and Thursday)

At Each our Community Health Paediatric and Counselling Service (CHPACS) delivers School Readiness Funded (SRF) programs that strengthen the capacity of kindergartens to support childrens development wellbeing and inclusion during the years that shape lifelong learning.

This program works alongside educators families and communities to build inclusive supportive environments for children aged three and fourfocusing on communication wellbeing and participation so every child can thrive as they transition to school.

Your role your impact

As a Psychologist or Social Worker in the School Readiness Funded Program you will play a vital role in supporting kindergarten educators to respond confidently and thoughtfully to the diverse needs of children and families.

Rather than providing individual therapy your work focuses on capacity buildinghelping educators strengthen everyday practice so children experience safe inclusive and connected learning environments.

In this role you will:

  • Plan and coordinate service delivery with kindergartens and the SRF allied health team
  • Lead capacitybuilding work with educators through coaching modelling mentoring group training and deidentified case consultation
  • Support school readiness outcomes with a focus on communication wellbeing and inclusion and participation
  • Build strong referral pathways between kindergartens and relevant community and health services
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team sharing knowledge and contributing to reflective practice
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance meeting service standards policies and reporting requirements
  • Use feedback and data to support continuous improvement and meaningful outcomes for children and educators

You are a thoughtful valuesled practitioner who enjoys working alongside educators and communities to build confidence capability and inclusive practice.

You bring:

  • Experience working with children families or educators in early childhood health or community settings
  • Confidence delivering capacitybuilding approaches including coaching training and consultation
  • Knowledge of child development wellbeing and school readiness
  • An understanding of traumainformed and neuroaffirming practice
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team
  • Sound time management documentation and digital skills

Mandatory qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology (with AHPRA registration) or Social Work (with eligibility for AASW membership)

What will make you stand out

  • Experience working in kindergarten or early childhood education settings
  • Knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) or National Quality Standard (NQS)
  • Experience supporting inclusion wellbeing or development through populationlevel or systemsfocused approaches
  • Training in programs such as SPARK Communication (Hanen)
  • Confidence working with diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and culturally diverse communities
