About the Role
Following the retirement of a long-serving team member were seeking a detail-driven Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a permanent full-time basis. Based at our Mooroolbark headquarters and reporting to the Head of Finance youll work across multiple entities within the Group contributing to accurate reporting sound controls and continuous improvement of our finance function.
We use Microsoft 365 Dynamics Business Central as our ERP. Working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday on site. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible where the right candidate is identified.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate invoices and credit notes as required
- Respond to customer enquiries when assigned
- Manage bad debts and write-offs
- Calculate Divisional Commissions and profit sharing
- Track and report on special purpose funds
- Prepare journals accruals prepayments and provisions
- Run the end-of-month billing process
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Assist with audits
- Support year-end reporting and statutory filings
- Assist with system improvements and process efficiencies
- Collaborate with the team and back-fill roles when needed
- Identify risks and opportunities for process automation or improvement
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across finance systems
- Other tasks as directed
About You
To succeed in this role youll bring:
- Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- CA or CPA qualified or actively working towards qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a financial accounting role
- Sound understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax requirements
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Microsoft 365 Dynamics Business Central highly regarded)
- Strong initiative and problem-solving capability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple entities
- Professional ethics and discretion
- Courteous and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders
- A respectful collaborative approach when working with team members
