Job Summary

  • Lead the delivery of large complex capital property and infrastructure projects across the Qantas Group portfolio spanning aviation and broader commercial assets. This role combines strategic leadership financial accountability and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-quality developments that support operational performance and enhance customer experience.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of significant property and infrastructure developments across Qantas Group locations globally. You will oversee capital works programs ensuring projects are delivered safely on time within budget and in line with best practice standards. 

As a Senior Property Development Manager you will lead and develop a team of Property Development Managers while overseeing external consultants governance processes and financial performance. The role also involves negotiation with airport owners and operators to secure operational facilities and infrastructure solutions aligned to business needs. 

You will prepare and deliver high-quality written and verbal presentations to senior executive stakeholders on project performance risks and portfolio outcomes. 

The Property Development team provides end-to-end property project management services across the Qantas Group lifecycle from fit outs through to new developments. The team partners with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver solutions that support evolving operational requirements and enhance customer experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of property and infrastructure projects 
  • Ensure safe timely and cost-effective project outcomes 
  • Manage budgets forecasting and financial performance 
  • Develop business cases and support capital investment decisions 
  • Oversee procurement contracting and supplier management 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across internal and external parties 
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations 
  • Lead coach and develop team members 
  • Monitor governance compliance and risk frameworks 
  • Drive continuous improvement and value optimisation 

Youll have

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in property construction engineering or related discipline 
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale property or infrastructure development 
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen 
  • Experience in procurement contracting and risk management 
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills 
  • Proven leadership and team management capability 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability 
  • Experience with construction software systems such as Aconex Procore & Bluebeam 
  • High standard of written documentation and reporting
