Academic Position at the Department of Forest Management and Applied Geoinformatics Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

Research Area: Forestry Landscape Architecture and Forest Management

The Department of Forest Management and Applied Geoinformatics specializes in connecting forest management with applied geoinformatics technologies. These technologies are utilized in various forestry activities as well as in landscape management where modern geoinformation processes play a key role.

  • Planning organization and oversight of all aspects of the departments activities
  • Managing the departments budget and resources
  • Supervising academic and research staff including regular evaluations
  • Pedagogical and research activities in the field
  • Ensuring high-quality education and student guidance
  • Supporting research activities and securing grants for the department
  • Collaborating with other departments

What do we expect from you

  • Higher education - at least a Ph.D. in forestry landscape architecture forest management or a related field; the rank of associate professor or professor is an advantage
  • Excellent active knowledge of Czech knowledge of English for educational and publishing purposes
  • Documentable research activities in forestry landscape architecture forest management or related fields experience publishing in journals with an impact factor and managing research projects at both domestic and international levels
  • Ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules governing financial management in higher education
  • Organizational managerial and communication skills
  • Capacity for both teamwork and independent work
  • Personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical activity
  • A desire to work on personal development and professional growth
