The departments of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at Mendel University in Brno represent modern and dynamic workplaces with a long tradition and robust scientific background. The Department of Forest Ecology addresses a wide range of ecological topics (primary and secondary production ecological stability and biodiversity) in the landscape. We are interested in the relationships between organisms and their environment climate substances and humans. The workplace is particularly focused on scientific achievements as evidenced by prestigious results but we also enjoy teaching. We work on projects with many of our domestic and international partners with a significant outreach to practice.

- Planning organization and oversight of all aspects of the departments activities
- Management of the departments budget and resources
- Management of academic and research staff including their regular evaluation
- Pedagogical and research activities in the field
- Ensuring high-quality teaching and student supervision
- Support for research activities and obtaining grants for the department
- Collaboration with other departments
What do we expect from you
- Higher education - at least a Ph.D. in forest ecology forest protection forestry or a related field; the title of associate professor or professor is an advantage
- Excellent active knowledge of Czech knowledge of the English language for teaching and publishing purposes
- Documented research activities in the field of forest ecology forest protection forestry or related fields experience with publishing in journals with IF and managing research projects at both domestic and international levels
- Ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules of management in higher education
- Organizational managerial and communication skills
- Aptitude for teamwork and independent work
- Personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical activity
- Desire to work on further personal development and professional growth
