Job Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY: We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish -speaking required) to support our clinical team. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow accurate clinical documentation and high-quality patient care particularly for our Spanish-speaking population.
These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner in accordance with the mission values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care service and kindness toward all patients staff physicians volunteers and guests.
Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish -speaking required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients obtain vital signs and document medical history in the EMR (e.g. Cerner Epic)
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Serve as a Spanish-English Interpreter for patients during visits
- Coordinate patient care including referrals imaging and follow-ups
- Manage patient communications (phone calls messages results)
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Assist with prior authorizations and insurance verification as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPPA and clinical protocols
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
- Current certification (CMA RMA or equivalent) preferred
- minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (specialty experience a plus)
- Strong EMR proficiency and computer skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
