Job Summary

TITLE: District Technology Coordinator (Tuslaw)

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Reports to: Director and/or District Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The District Technology Coordinator leads and supports the districts technology initiatives managing services facilities budgets equipment personnel and the operation of student and administrative computer systems. Reporting to the Superintendent or designee the Coordinator oversees the districts technology plan manages and oversees technology implementation and upgrades ensures routine maintenance is performed provides expert technical support and advises on networking infrastructure.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technology Planning and Implementation:
    • Develops updates and implements the districts Educational Technology Plan ensuring it aligns with district goals and resource availability.
    • Coordinates the integration of technology to enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency across the district.
  • Committee and Team Leadership:
    • Coordinates and directs the activities of the Site Technology Teams to ensure effective collaboration and the successful implementation of technology initiatives.
    • Serves as the primary technology liaison between the district and the Superintendent or designee ensuring that technology strategies align with district goals.
  • Professional Development and Support:
    • Facilitates awareness and communicates requirements for technology-related training programs for faculty and staff ensuring they are informed about the effective use of digital tools and resources.
    • Serves as a resource for curriculum personnel and faculty on technology integration information literacy and ethical use of technology.
  • Technical Support and Infrastructure Management:
    • Provides technical support to district end-users ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
    • Manages and oversees the districts networking infrastructure to ensure secure scalable and reliable operations.
    • Administers and maintains district servers ensuring optimal performance security and regular updates.
    • Oversees the administration of the districts systems and networks including WAN to support educational and management services.
    • Implements and manages routine maintenance backups and disaster recovery plans for all critical systems.
  • Policy and Standards Management:
    • Oversees the districts Acceptable Use Policy for network access and ensures compliance with district guidelines.
    • Establishes and maintains district technology standards including the procurement of hardware and software.
  • Vendor and Project Management:
    • Acts as the liaison with hardware and software vendors managing projects that are contracted out of the district.
    • Collaborates with vendors to complete technology projects ensuring they meet district standards and timelines.
  • Technology Advancement:
    • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and evaluates their potential impact on district operations.
    • Plans organizes and oversees the implementation of major system upgrades and installations.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:
    • Oversees the district inventory of technology hardware and software ensuring effective asset management.
  • Grant Writing and Resource Development:
    • Prepares and submits grant proposals related to technology to secure additional funding and resources.
  • Other Duties:
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by the SPARCC Director or local Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Educational technology applications.
    • Emerging technologies and their applications in education.
    • Operating systems software applications and their use in an educational context.
    • Budget management and inventory control procedures.
    • Digital citizenship and responsible social media usage.
  • Ability to:
    • Motivate and support others to achieve objectives.
    • Design and conduct effective in-service programs.
    • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Adapt to a changing environment and take initiative in developing new programs.
    • Work collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
    • Understand and apply technological specifications related to emerging technologies.
    • Respond quickly to requests and shifting priorities.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in educational technology or a related field is required.
  • Preferred 5-7 years of experience is preferred with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role including experience managing or overseeing technology projects.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Instructional Technology or a related field.

SALARY:

  • $48000$62000 per year
  • Commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Compensation is subject to SPARCC salary schedule(s).

EMPLOYMENT TERM:

  • Determined by district needs and requirements.
  • Work location is Tuslaw Local Schools.
