Job Summary

JOB GOAL:

To provide assistance to facilitators and classroom teachers with small groups and assist teachers/students with the effective integration of educational technology to improve instruction and academic achievement.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary is based on a nine and one-half (9.50) month teacher contract (195days) NOTE: Precise placement on the salary range will be determined based upon experience and education. FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree (minimum). Masters degree preferred.
  2. Valid Arkansas teacher certification.
  3. K-5 classroom teaching experience with the ability to effectively differentiate instructional and behavior management strategies for all grade levels.
  4. Successful background experiences in designing and delivering innovative technology lessons that are aligned with both the ISTE standards and AR Computer Science Standards for K-5.
  5. Successful experiences in planning and delivering educational technology professional development.
  6. Successful experience in working with both adults and students.
  7. Experiences in demonstrating exemplary classroom instructional practice for the purpose of effective best practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps.
  8. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite G-Suite (formerly known as GAFE) SMART Technologies multiple platforms OER (Open Educational Resources) and e-School applications.
  9. Experience in troubleshooting user end issues with multiple operating systems: iOS Windows and Chrome.
  10. Demonstrates ongoing professional development in the realm of educational technology to include seeking additional training researching emerging technologies following educational technology trends and/or participation in professional organizations/networks related to educational technology. .
  11. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

  1. Conducts teacher in service sessions on the use and integration of educational technology during the school day and after school.
  2. Collaborates with teachers and facilitators in planning and the implementation of instruction related to differentiating instruction and providing interventions as needed while adhering to the district curriculum map.
  3. Coordinates with principal to plan implement training and support the integration of educational technology that aligns with the district curriculum.
  4. Assists students to provide a continuum of support by using assessment data to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the districts content standards using a variety of manipulatives technology and hands-on activities to support individual and/or small group needs.
  5. Provides students with the digital math and literacy skills that they need to develop college/career readiness prepare for online testing etc. without sacrificing classroom instruction.
  6. Assists in planning and implementing upgrades and expansions of current district software such as e-School and other approved district software.
  7. Provides support for teachers using educational software to fully implement the literacy and mathematics curriculum and models the integration of technology for teachers.
  8. Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required to plan instruction and/or assist teachers in learning various assessment techniques.
  9. Regularly analyzes data create documents and monitors student progress to provide support for teachers and maintains a variety of electronic files and/or records (e.g. Test data student records and other data regarding proficiency) for the purpose of determining student needs in order present to staff to monitor and drive further instruction.
  10. Assist in overseeing online testing administration.
  11. Responsible for troubleshooting minor device and application problems and explores and investigates emerging technologies.
  12. Oversees operation of Educational Technology learning lab plus computers in all classrooms.
  13. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities and excellent communication skills.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
