Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Laboratory Assistant for a travel assignment in Atlanta Georgia. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy and specimen processing experience with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
This role supports inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations through specimen collection processing and laboratory data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specimen collection procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations
- Process prepare and distribute laboratory specimens accurately
- Handle laboratory data collection systems and ensure proper test ordering and cancellations
- Support accurate charging and documentation for laboratory services
- Maintain specimen integrity and follow laboratory safety procedures
- Assist with non-technical laboratory processing tasks
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare teams to maintain workflow efficiency
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Laboratory Assistant experience required
- Current Phlebotomy Certification required
- Strong specimen collection and processing skills required
- Ability to work effectively in high-volume clinical environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures required
