More about the role:
We are evolving as anorganisationandhave beenactivelygrowing ournursecohort beyond breastfunding McGrath Cancer Care Nurses (MCCNs) who support people diagnosed withall types part of thisevolutionwearelooking to add to our existing highly skilled team with this impactful roleNurse Clinical Lead(Melanoma andAll Cancers).
You will bepart ofourNursing Program function which is at the heartofMcGrathFoundations purposeand what we do. You will play an integral partintheinitialtransitionofMelanomaNursesinto the McGrath Foundation. This will involve supporting servicemappingthe implementation of the McGrath Model of Care including role development and mentoring of MCCNs who care of people this transition period the role will evolve to supportstatewide McGrath Cancer Care Nurses who haveexpertisein providing care to other tumour streams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providingmelanomaand oncologynursingexpertisearound treatment pathways and protocols formelanoma and othercancersreferencingthe McGrath Model of Care
- Workingwith the Nursing Programteam to ensure consistency of information and support forMCCNs
- Offeringspecialistmelanomaknowledge to the Nursing Programteam andthegreater McGrath Foundationteam
- Providingclinical knowledge and support (monitoring and mentoring) to MCCNs caring for people withmelanoma and othercancers.
- Givinginsight to the Nursing Program processes and provide feedback on areas of opportunities.
What you bring to the role:
This role presents an excitingopportunity for acancernursing specialist who is motivated and excited to play a key role insharing their oncologynursingexpertiseandevolving the McGrath Model of Care as we take our care to all cancers. The ideal candidatehasthe following skillsexperienceand qualifications:
- Registered Nurse and has registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Tertiary Education qualifications in cancer nursing ideally atMaster level
- At least3years recent clinical experience caring for peoplewithmelanomaand other tumour streams
- Stronginterpersonal skillswithdemonstratedleadership and peoplemanagementcapabilities
- Ability to develop and deliver program and education content for the Nursing Program team and MCCN cohort
This role is a permanent part-time position working 4 days per week (0.8 FTE). Working remotely isan optionwith the ability to travel locally/interstate asrequired.
