Job Summary (List Format) Interventional Radiology Tech (SFMC)
- Unit/Department: Interventional Radiology (IR) Special Procedures Tech (not EP or cath lab)
- Care Setting: Acute care
- Shift: 5 x 8-hour shifts/week; 40 hours/week; with call and possible weekends/holidays
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Active Illinois license (or proof of application)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Orientation: 12 hours (non-billable); unit-specific 3-5 days in lab
- Charting System: EPIC (EMR)
- Equipment: Philips monitors
- Duties Include:
- Scrubbing passing supplies setting up and taking down procedure rooms
- Assisting with vascular neuro drains and line procedures
- Managing 20-30 cases per day in 6 labs (pre-op and phase 2 recovery)
- Staffing: Charge RN on shift (0730-1700 does not take patients) 1 PCT per shift
- Call Requirements:
- Weeknight weekend and holiday call required (7 9 shifts in 6 weeks)
- 30-minute call response time
- Scheduling: No floating outside IR or cath lab
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided
- Other Notes:
- Must comply with Drug-Free Campus policy (negative drug screen required)
- Local rate applies for clinicians living within 50 miles
- Call-off policy: 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty
- Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
