About the Role
We are seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract opportunity with Mad River Community Hospital in Arcata California. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced ER RN with an active California license who is comfortable working night shifts in a hospital-based emergency care setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting
- Assess triage monitor and manage patients with urgent and emergent conditions
- Administer medications treatments and interventions according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient outcomes
- Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
- Follow hospital policies safety standards infection control practices and emergency care procedures
- Support patient and family communication during emergency care encounters
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience required
- Active California RN license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start date required
- Experience with CPSI/Evident EMR preferred
- Ability to work 7:00 PM 7:30 AM night shifts
- Ability to work three 12-hour shifts weekly
- Strong clinical judgment critical thinking and emergency response skills
