Job Summary

The AVP HR India is the custodian of the entire people function in India.
This role carries end-to-end accountability for HR strategy governance compliance talent
culture and infrastructure while acting as a trusted partner to the India leadership team and
global stakeholders.
The role is both strategic and hands-on requiring depth of judgement operational rigour and
the ability to lead a growing diverse organisation through scale change and increasing global
integration.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Leadership & Custodianship (End-to-End)
Own the entire HR function for India including Line HR Employee Relations Payroll
Policy Compliance L&D Recruitment CSR and Facilities
Act as the final authority on HR matters in India balancing people business and
statutory obligations
Ensure consistency fairness and credibility across all people practices
2. Line HR & Employee Relations
Lead and mentor Line HR teams to support managers with performance conduct
engagement and capability issues
Handle complex ER matters investigations grievances and disciplinary cases with
maturity and discretion
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on sensitive people decisions
3. People Compliance & Payroll
Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws statutory requirements audits and
filings
Own payroll governance and execution : accuracy timeliness and employee
confidence
Maintain audit-ready HR processes and data integrity at all times
4. Policy & Governance
Define interpret and evolve HR policies that are legally sound culturally relevant and
business-aligned
Ensure policies are applied consistently while allowing for judgement where required
Bridge global policies with India realities without diluting intent
5. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Own recruitment strategy for India: quality of hire speed cost efficiency and cultural fit
Partner with business leaders on workforce planning capability gaps and future skill
needs
Strengthen employer brand in the Indian market
6. Learning Capability & Leadership Development
Drive L&D strategy aligned to business priorities and future growth
Build leadership capability at mid and senior levels
Promote a culture of learning accountability and internal progression
7. Management Representation & Stakeholder Partnership
Represent the HR function within the India leadership team
Act as the India people voice in global forums when required
Partner closely with global HR and business leaders to ensure alignment and trust
8. CSR Culture & Employee Experience
Own and evolve CSR initiatives aligned with organisational values
Champion employee experience engagement and wellbeing
Be a visible culture carrier for the organisation in India
9. Facilities & Infrastructure (People Enablement)
Oversee facility management to ensure safe compliant and productive work
environments
Partner with operations and admin teams on scalability safety and cost discipline
Ensure infrastructure supports growth without compromising employee experience
