Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Core Values: Demonstrate TSTCs core values of Excellence Accountability Service and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders customers students and community members.

• Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.

• Installation: Plan and execute the installation of new electrical systems and equipment.

• Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain up-to-date records of inspections and repairs.

• Building Access: Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.

• Emergency Response: Assist in responding to electrical emergencies and outages to restore service as quickly as possible.

• Equipment Management: Check out tools equipment and supplies as needed.

• Vehicle Operation: Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.

• Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.

• Physical Exertion: Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs.) often in awkward positions.

• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Journeyman or master license.

• Six years combined training in electrician trade 4 years with applicable license.

• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Valid Texas Drivers License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Working Conditions:

• Exertion: Significant physical effort and strength required daily often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.

• Exposure: Regular exposure to dust grease noise inclement weather and temperature extremes.

• Risk: Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
