Job Summary
Responsible for developing implementing and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies at Nypro Inc.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and programs in accordance with local state and federal regulations (e.g. OSHA EPA).
* Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues recommending and tracking corrective actions.
* Investigate accidents incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
* Provide EHS training to employees on topics such as hazard communication emergency preparedness confined spaces and lockout/tagout.
* Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and ensure proper handling storage and documentation of hazardous materials.
* Monitor air emissions wastewater discharge and other environmental parameters to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
* Maintain accurate EHS records reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and internal tracking.
* Participate in EHS committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
* Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
* Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and projects.
Job Qualifications
* BS/AS degree in Environmental Engineering Safety Engineering Occupational Health or a related field a plus
* 0-2 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment preferably in plastics molding or a similar industry.
* Knowledge of OSHA EPA and other relevant EHS regulations.
* Experience in helping develop and implementing EHS programs.
* Excellent communication interpersonal and training skills.
* Ability to conduct EHS audits inspections and incident investigations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
* Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Or equivalent combination of education and experience
