About the opportunity
The position will provide technical teaching support to staff and students completing practicals and workshops primarily in the School of Medicine and may be required to support wider discipline offerings delivered on the Cradle Coast campus. This position plays a key role in the delivery of quality learning and teaching to enhance the student experience and graduate outcomes.
What youll do:
- Provide technical support for practical classes as required including instructing students on correct and safe collecting and handling of biological specimens or chemicals.
- Coordinate the setup operation and packdown of teaching spaces including preparation testing and maintenance of equipment as directed.
- Ensure safe cleaning storage and disposal of chemicals biological materials and specimens before and after practical classes in accordance with WH&S requirements.
- Support with other teaching programs delivered by Health to enable smooth delivery of classes where directed.
- Assist in maintaining Work Health & Safety during practical classes and preparation and WH&S processes.
What were looking for:
- Relevant experience or a combination of equivalent qualifications relevant training and experience working in biomedical labs.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a team member provide responsible innovation in task delivery and effectively manage workload and priorities.
- Administrative experience and ability to improve administrative systems processes policies and procedures and experience in the use of complex databases.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and outcome-focused partnerships with external stakeholders.
- High-level organisational and administrative skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
- Working with Vulnerable People registration (or ability to obtain).
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91488 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $73814 to $78195 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
