GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Use your skills to make a difference in your community! This full-time position serves as a clinic and regional supervisor for WIC services across Sheridan Johnson Campbell Weston Crook Niobrara and Goshen counties. The position provides leadership and oversight to ensure services are delivered effectively and in compliance with federal and state regulations.

This position interprets and monitors adherence to federal and state WIC regulations and policies within the assigned local agencies and region through consultation visits management evaluations and the provision of quality nutrition services. The role serves as a liaison between local agencies and the state WIC office to ensure clear communication and consistent program implementation.
Responsibilities include performing WIC participant certification conducting health and nutrition assessments providing nutrition educationincluding breastfeeding education and supportand making appropriate health referrals. The position prescribes and issues supplemental nutritious food packages and ensures that services are responsive to participant needs.
The supervisor provides program management and quality assurance oversight for WIC offices throughout the region. Duties include hiring training supervising and evaluating staff as well as directing the work of contractors and county employees with operational supervisory and fiscal responsibility.
Additional responsibilities include communicating program changes and expectations assessing community needs conducting outreach and ensuring service delivery meets participant needs. The role also involves conducting and tailoring nutrition screening anthropometric and hematologic assessments and other eligibility determinations. This position supports provider and participant education public outreach resource development and the identification and implementation of best practices including coordinating breastfeeding promotion and education efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.- Interprets andmonitors adherence to Federal and State WIC Regulations and Policies within assigned local agency and region through consultation visits management evaluations and the provision of quality nutrition services.
- Functions as a liaison between local agencies in the region and the State WIC Office.
- Performs WIC participant certification including health and nutrition assessment/nutrition education for participants including breastfeeding education/support and health referrals. Prescribes and issues supplemental nutritious food packages.
- Provides program management of WIC offices withinthe region including quality assurance activities.
- Hire train supervise and evaluatesubordinate-level employees within the local agency and region.
- Communicates withrelevant parties regarding changes to rules expectations and goals while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assuresthe development of services and that actual service delivery meets the needs of participants and assures that areas of concern with service delivery are appropriately addressed.
- Assesses community needs and conducts appropriate outreach.
- Conduct and tailor nutrition screening assessment and education and health screens including anthropometric and hematologic assessment to determine WIC eligibility.
- Assures service meets the needs of the participants.
- Directs the work of contractors and county employees with full operational supervisory and fiscal responsibility.
- Provides provider and participant training and education public education resource development identification and implementation of best practices.
- Coordinates breastfeeding promotion and education.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
A four-year degree is required in Nutrition Dietetics Nursing or Public Health Nutrition. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required for RNs. Registered dietitian (RD) credential preferred for nutritionists. Our ideal candidate will also have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of the principles and practices of grant writing grant administration management and evaluation.
- Knowledge of program administration.
- Knowledge of Wyoming state statutes.
- Knowledge of marketing social marketing customer service group dynamics public relations advocacy and outreach strategies.
- Understanding and ability to apply principles of maternal and child health and nutrition as well as breastfeeding support and education.
- Ability to supervise and motivate employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelors Degree (typically in Healthcare)Experience:1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program SpecialistOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program SpecialistCertificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Travel required.

- The Wyoming Department of Health is anE-Verify employer.
- Background Check: A comprehensive background check including fingerprinting will be conducted through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation the Department of Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
- Immunizations:The successful applicant must complete an Employee Health Assessment including verification of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. If found to be non-immune vaccination will be required unless medically contraindicated. Yearly influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended but not required. New hires will have tuberculosis (TB) testing upon hire and complete the TB risk assessment annually.
- Moving Expenses: The Wyoming WIC Program may reimburse up to $3000 for actual eligible moving expenses. These include the cost of professional labor and packing materials rental trucks equipment standard insurance fuel and tolls.
