Position objective
TheManager Birds on Farms is a key leadership role within the Science and Priority Landscapes Program and supportsBirdLifesmission to put birds and nature on a path to recovery by 2032. The Birds on Farms program engages landholders in rural landscapes through a targeted citizen science monitoring program to increase awareness of woodland birds their conservation needs and support habitat restoration and conservation of birds on their properties. By engaging landholders through bird conservation and encouraging uptake of habitat restoration actions the program will address key threats and reverse the decline of woodland and other bird species whilst also supporting overall environmental health and farm productivity.
The Role
Reporting to the Director Science & Priority Landscapes the Manager oversees the Birds on Farms engagement programs in key areas across Australia (such as Vic NSWQldand WA). These projects use woodland birds as flagship species and indicators of landscape health to engage communities in conservation on private rural properties. This is achieved through education monitoring site visits and the development of habitat restoration plans funding advice and (whereappropriate)covenanting of key woodland habitat. These activities support the delivery ofBirdLifeAustralias Woodland Bird Conservation Action Plan (WB CAP).

Remuneration / Job Level: Full-time salary at Level 4 dependent on experience (in line with published Level/Grade Remuneration Scales).
