JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain endtoend IoT and manufacturing data pipelines from plantfloor data sources (sensors PLCs OPCUA gateways) through cloud ingestion (Azure IoT Hub Event Hub Kafka MQTT) to storage and visualization.

• Develop and maintain productionfacing applications: OEE dashboards downtime trackers quality reporting tools and operatorfacing UIs using React/Angular frontends / backends.

• Build secure eventdriven integrations between shopfloor solutions and MES ERP (SAP) PLM SCADA/PLC historians and IoT platforms using REST/GraphQL APIs MQTT/AMQP OPCUA and middleware.

• Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) infrastructureascode and environment promotion across dev/test/production for shopfloor applications.

• Implement and maintain realtime streaming architectures handling highthroughput manufacturing data with proper handling of backpressure outoforder events schema evolution and failure recovery.

• Write and optimize nontrivial SQL queries against production databases for data mining reporting and integration validation; design data models for timeseries and manufacturing datasets.

• Implement observability (logs/metrics/traces) SLOs/SLIs and proactive alerting using Grafana Prometheus or Azure Monitor; ensure high availability during production shifts.

• Troubleshoot integration failures endtoend: capture raw payloads compare against schema identify encoding issues trace through network layers and resolve root cause across JSON XML and SOAP integrations.

• Develop and maintain realtime dashboards machine connectors and monitoring tools; integrate timeseries data from sensors/PLCs/historians for actionable insights (OEE scrap downtime anomaly trends).

• Ensure all solutions meet PHINIAs standards for reliability cybersecurity ISA/IEC 62443 alignment Zero Trust data integrity and operational performance.

• Apply automationfirst engineering: test automation containerization repeatable builds and standardized templates/components for reuse across global sites.

• Explore and implement edge AI/computervision capabilities (e.g. defect detection) and cloud/edge patterns (Azure IoT Functions Event Hub Kafka) where value is demonstrated.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams dataflow diagrams configuration guides and runbooks.

What were looking for

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or related technical field

• 47 years of experience in cloud engineering integration engineering or software engineering for manufacturing/industrial environments

• Handson experience with Azure cloud services (IoT Hub Functions Event Hub App Service) or equivalent cloud platform

• Experience with realtime streaming technologies (Kafka MQTT NiFi Azure Event Hub) including handling of backpressure deduplication and latearriving data

• Strong programming skills in Python C#/.NET or Java; modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular) for dashboard development

• SQL fluency (joins window functions query optimization) for data mining against production and analytics databases; comfort with timeseries data modeling

• Big data awareness: familiarity with data lake architectures batch and streaming ingestion patterns and timeseries databases (InfluxDB TimescaleDB ADX)

• Fluency reading and debugging JSON XML and SOAP payloads across integration boundaries

• Basic algorithm understanding (sorting searching graph traversal complexity analysis)

• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions or equivalent); containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Grafana Prometheus Azure Monitor)

• Understanding of IT/OT security principles (ISA/IEC 62443 Zero Trust) and manufacturing network basics

• Integration experience with MES/SCADA/PLC/ERP/PLM using REST APIs OPCUA MQTT/AMQP

• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ900 AZ204) preferred

• Docker/Kubernetes certifications preferred
