An exciting opportunity is available to join South Pacific Private as aTherapist Inpatient and Day Program.
The role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapist to join us across two complimentary programs working one day per week in each:
Inpatient SLAA Program
Facilitating structured group therapy for inpatients presenting with sex love and relationship addiction often alongside trauma and complex relational histories.
Womens Relationships in Recovery
Delivering a specialist abstinence-based day program curriculum tailored to women navigating addiction trauma and intimacy-related challenges.
Together these roles offer a rare opportunity to contribute high-value clinical work in a fully accredited 54-bed private psychiatric hospital alongside one of Australias most experienced multidisciplinary teams.
What youll be doing:
Facilitate structured group therapy sessions in the Inpatient SLAA Program one day per week
Deliver the Womens Relationships in Recovery Program curriculum one day per week including psycho-educational and therapeutic group sessions
Deliver evidence-based trauma-informed therapeutic content for clients presenting with sex love and relationship addiction
Apply psycho-educational frameworks including The Pia Mellody model Attachment Theory the Sex and Love Addiction model and love avoidance patterns
Provide individual client support addressing behavioural issues and monitoring progress
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including session notes and case management records in accordance with SPP policy
Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity integration and holistic client-centred care
Manage group dynamics crisis and conflict interventions with professional confidence and clinical skill
Liaise with the Program Manager regarding the management of high-focus clients
Attend clinical handover case reviews group supervision and staff meetings as required
What were looking for:
ESSENTIAL Bachelor Degree in Counselling/Honours degree in Psychology with group therapy training OR Graduate Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy with group therapy training Minimum provisional registration with AHPRA PACFA or ACA or equivalent Minimum 2 years relevant post-graduate clinical group therapy experience Demonstrable experience or specialist training in sex addiction love addiction and/or love avoidance presentations Confidence facilitating therapeutic groups with complex high-acuity presentations Access to regular individual external supervision as required by your governing body
HIGHLYREGARDED Experience working with trauma and attachment-based presentations Experience in inpatient or residential and day-program settings Trauma-Informed Practice certification or training Familiarity with 12-Step and abstinence-based recovery models Experience working within multidisciplinary clinical teams
