Human Resources Senior Director: Human Resources Business Partner (Global Development)
What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. HRSeniorDirector:Global Development at Amgenincludesall clinical development functions acrossour fourTherapeutic Areas. The role supports bothSVPs and leadership teams for Global Development and Global Oncology addition to the physician-scientists that manage our clinicaldesigns shepherd programs through thefull commercialization process andparticipatein cross functionalgovernance forumsthese two SVPs also lead key platform functions such as Biostatistics Precision Medicine and Epidemiology. The role is both broad initsreach and deep inthe functional domains it supportsand represents the ability to havea significant impact on our business as well as learn more about key technical domains that are central to theaccomplishment of thecompanys verymission and purpose.
Inadditionin leading the HR supportforthese two large functions (withovera dozen vice presidents and1000 staff) through the core HR processes of performance calibration talentmanagement recruiting key organizational interfaces with global R&D sites in Europeand Asiaand other key business particularthe partnershipwith Global Development Operations a the key team thatleadsthe conduct of our clinical supporting these teams and the work they conductthe Senior Director Human Resources will have two direct reportsand multiple key HR partners inCenters of Expertise such as CompensationTalent Acquisition etc.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will help clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization.
- Partner witheach respective clientleadership team to define a vision that drives innovationgrowthand employee partner withglobalCenters ofExcellence (COEs)to executepeoplestrategies at theBusiness Unit (BU)/function level including org designorganizational effectiveness leadership development and workforce planning & strategy.
- Partner with the business to drive enabling strategies includingutilizationofAmgen India (AIN)inHyderabadtodefine future operating model for clients particularly forclinical trial conduct and data management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees guiding the execution of HR programs processes communications and strategic initiatives. Develop strong partnerships with HR centers ofexpertise oversee leadership development talent management staffengagementand Amgens talent acquisition organization toidentifyand attract top talent to key leadership roles.
- Combine data and people insights to coach and guide clients on HR and business-related issues to shape and affect positivechangein the organization including strategy clarification organization design change management talent development team / organizationaleffectivenessand workforce planning.
- Support(withstrongcollaboration from ourData & Insights capability pillarOrganization Effectiveness(OE)& otherR&DHRBPs)inclient specificHR metrics strategy and data to develop insightsidentifyanddrive solutions based on functional metrics (turnover engagementworkforce effectivenessetc.)to supportdesired business outcomes.
- Shape and foster a high performing and highly engaged culture. Lead talent management processes to strengthen leadershippipeline.
- Partner with leaders toacquire developengageandretaintalent. Ensure talent management and succession planning activities for client groups forpurposeofidentifyingleadership gaps and solutions.
- Help manage and supportDiversity Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B)effortsin close partnership with the Talent & Culture (T&C)organization. Provide input on culture and inclusion strategy while actively assistingoninitiatives.
- Lead large scale change by partnering and collaborating with leaders cross-functionally and executive decision-making on business transformation and future-of-work strategy.
- Work closely with our compensation team tomonitorthe financial competitiveness of the functions you support and help deliver both ad hoc and organization wide of misalignment and partner closely with Compensation to seek out external benchmarking to ensure continued competitiveness with our peer set.
- Support the global delivery of HR initiativesidentifyingand managing opportunitiesforclient groupsto support the achievement of strategic goals.
- Stay current on leading talent trends and deliver practical and insightful thought leadership including the development and personal growth of our people with theobjectiveof enabling our people to excel.
- Actively contribute to and collaborate with the broader HR team sharing knowledge and practices that will help HR be more effective to the entire organization.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 5 years of Human Resources experience
Or
Masters degree and 9 years of Human Resources experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 11 years of Human Resources experience
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements you must have at least 5yearsexperiencedirectly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams projects programs or directing the allocationorresources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree or MBA
- 10 years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast paced rapidly changing high technical or pharmaceutical biotech environment
- 7 years supervisory experience
- Broad understanding of and appreciation for all human resources components
- Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges sound knowledge of applicable employment laws regulations and business practices related to the field of Human Resources
- Ability to translate enterprise HR strategies into business-specific action plans
- Data Evaluation expertise with focus on Insights & Story Telling Technological savviness
- Strong capability in Leadership Development Succession Planning & Sourcing
- Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
- Strong relationship management with internal and external customer service focus
Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement showcasing curiosity agility and growth mindset
Strong analytical problem solving consulting change management and project management skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
