Job Summary
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Capital Controls Support
- Oversee the development of detailed analytical estimates from ground up calculating the direct and indirect costs and contingency requirements (first principles estimating).
- Provide functional support with regards to estimating costing planning & scheduling and benchmarking.
- Ensure outputs from Project Front End Development considers all issues affecting scope definition and estimates and incorporates Project Engineering and Safety disciplines into the programme.
Technical and Contractual Support
- Support operational teams and Supply Chain with the technical contract interrogation in evaluating the robustness assumptions and compliance of contractor proposals and claims
- Provide insights into technical requirements scope clarity and risk allocation in support of contracting strategies
Investment Analysis and Non-Financial Capital Reporting
- Assist in preparation of non-financial reporting on capital performance (reporting coordinated by Snr Manager Investment Support) including schedule progress quality indicators and technical performance metrics
- Support benchmarking and performance insights for non-financial performance indicators in capital excellence
- Portfolio Risk Assessment and Prioritisation Support
- Support detailed analyses for portfolio risk management incl. design maturation and risk analysis for project prioritisation and for cash flow optimisation
- Support assessment and documentation of change-of-scope and variation requests to ensure alignment with approved thresholds and governance requirements
- Highlight interdependencies constraints and risk exposures to inform prioritisation and capital allocation
Post-Investment Review Contribution
- Support execution of post investment reviews including data gathering analysis of outcomes versus plan and synthesis of lessons learned
- Translate post-investment findings into improvements in estimating norms benchmarking baselines and planning assumptions
Collaboration and Guidance to Site Teams
- Maintain close working relationships with project managers sponsors and site leaders to ensure consistent interpretation of technical standards & timely resolution of invest. challenges
- Escalate systemic technical concerns and provide input for continuous improvement of capital discipline practices.
People & Teams:

Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a Technical Field (preferably in Cost Estimating and/or Quantity Surveying
Experience:
- 5-7 years industry related working experience
Technical knowledge (experience) required for role:
- Strong understanding of project management disciplines (project controls cost schedule risk and contract management) within defined standards and frameworks
- Extensive knowledge of developing cost estimates for projects (basis of estimate) using a project estimate database
- Knowledge of probabilistic analysis contingency and escalation techniques.
- Knowledge of project cost and planning software/tools
- Capital investment governance frameworks including application of policies standards and assurance processes
- Investment analysis and non-financial capital performance reporting methodologies
- Experience in contractor and contract management in capital project environments
Technical Skills
- Proficient in estimating from first principles (including benchmarking costs escalations etc. from established database) for complex and/or large projects.
- Proficient in project scheduling methodogies (eg. Critical Path Method (CPM) Programme Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT)) for reviewing construction sequences method statements work breakdown structures and resources requirements for complex and/or large projects.
- Proficienct in conducting detailed capital review and management and assess project readiness planning quality and execution capability
- Proficient in portfolio risk analysis incl. identification of interdependencies constraints and trade-offs
- Capability to interrogate technical and contractual information to assess assumptions compliance and risk allocation
- Ability to support post-investment reviews incl. analysis of outcomes & synthesis of actionable insights
