The Opportunity

I am currently seeking a high-calibre Solutions Architect to join a premier New Zealand technology exporter at a pivotal moment in their digital evolution. Known globally for providing mission-critical communication infrastructure this organisation is currently overhauling its digital landscape to move to a unified scalable platform ecosystem.

This isnt a maintenance role. It is a high-impact position for an architect who wants to define the backbone of systems used by emergency services and national utilities worldwide.

Core Mandate

The successful candidate will be responsible for the architectural integrity of a multi-platform digital environment. The focus is on building a connective tissue that allows for rapid service deployment without sacrificing system cohesion.

• Platform Design: Establishing service boundaries and domain structures that facilitate scalable microservice-based development.
• Systems Integration: Designing complex integration layers across APIs and event streams to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
• Technical Governance: Creating pragmatic architectural guardrails that empower product teams to innovate independently while maintaining platform-wide standards.
• Solution Orchestration: Architecting shared capabilitiessuch as identity data services and device integration - to ensure a seamless end-to-end user experience.

Candidate Profile

This role requires a blend of high-level strategic vision and in-the-trenches engineering pragmatism.

Required Expertise:

• Platform Architecture: A proven track record of designing and operating microservice architectures within complex digital ecosystems.
• Integration Specialist: Deep expertise in API-first and event-driven models alongside experience with OSS/BSS system integration.
• Modern Methodology: Experience in environments that prioritize rapid experimentation iterative development and fail-fast engineering patterns.
• Collaborative Leadership: The ability to manage dependencies across multiple product teams to deliver a unified solution.

Education & Background:

• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or a related field.
• Previous experience in SaaS mission-critical environments or large-scale developer platforms is highly advantageous.
