Job Summary
The Process Technician supports a manufacturing facility by commissioning operating and maintaining chemical process equipment used in materials production. This role ensures safe reliable and efficient operations while following environmental and quality standards. The position reports to the Production Manager and involves both indoor and outdoor work in all seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate chemical process equipment such as pumps valves heat exchangers mixers filters and reaction vessels.
- Perform process rounds collect operational data and conduct lab sampling for quality analysis.
- Troubleshoot issues that may impact safety environmental compliance equipment reliability or product quality.
- Initiate maintenance workflows and perform light maintenance as needed.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance activities following safe work and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in process improvement and risk-management activities (RCA MOC PHA).
- Maintain accurate process documentation and assist with production tasks as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to wear a respirator lift up to 50 lbs climb stairs/ladders work in tight spaces and stand/walk frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Process Technology or related field.
- Experience in chemical petroleum or water-treatment operations.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
- Prior leadership responsibilities.
- Hands-on problem-solving experience and solid understanding of process flow.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $24-$42 depending on experience.
