A locally owned and operated civil and transportation engineering firm is seeking a Public Works Flood Control Project Manager with a strong background in water resources and surface water. This role will lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projects flood mitigation initiatives and FEMA-related studies while ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage water resources and flood control projects. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis. Perform flood hazard identification and mitigation studies. Work on FEMA studies and Area Drainage Master Studies (ADMS/P). Oversee design of stream stabilization drainage systems and hydraulic structures. Review engineering calculations and perform QA/QC on models. Prepare design reports exhibits and construction documents. Mentor and supervise engineering staff. Develop scopes proposals and negotiate contracts. Manage budgets schedules and resource allocation. Participate in business development and client marketing.
Technical Expertise Required: Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (1D and 2D). Floodplain mapping and watershed planning. River mechanics and sediment yield analysis. Transportation drainage systems. Experience with FLO-2D (required).
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license. Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ability to obtain within 6 months. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to manage technical teams and client relationships.
