About the role:
The hands-on People & Culture Manager position is an integral part of the operations and leadership team who will balance both strategic initiatives and drives operational will lead the organisation in employee relations performance and talent management organisational design and development engagement reward and recognition HR systems change management and reporting.
You will lead a HR team of 3 in cultivating Rise & Shines workplace culture across our Early Education service teams and our management office. You will set to achieve business effectiveness and efficiency by being a visionary practitioner who strives for HR excellence and a positive company culture.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Partner with senior management to set strategy new initiatives and systematic processes for sustainable growth positive culture and a focus on high performance and employee satisfaction.
- Provide end-end HR support for a portfolio of Rise & Shine centres
- Scope training and development for all employees supporting long term career goals including succession planning.
- Coordination of employee satisfaction surveys collecting feedback and collating suggested action and improvement plans for senior management consideration.
- Manage all employment risks HR policies and objectives in line with statutory and company requirements and ensuring the safety of all employees.
- Resolve conflicts through positive and professional mediation and liaise with our IR specialist as required
- Support service directors and centre teams in developing positive workplace culture including training and mentoring
- Manage return to work plans
- Assist with recruitment and retention strategies
- Manage the development implementation and ongoing improvements of a high-quality induction and onboarding program (including probation reviews) for employees and volunteers.
- Interpret apply and advise on compliance with regard to award entitlements and changes terms and conditions and organisation employment conditions Fair Work Act and related legislation.
- Advise coach and support Centre Directors through the performance development and review process cycle including monitoring management of unsatisfactory performance performance improvement plans and development need analysis.
- Developing and monitoring employment wellbeing program.
- Overseeing WHS within the business.
- Supporting the payroll team with training and enquiries.
- Work with the Operations team and Centre Directors in workforce planning and cost efficiencies
- Any other generalist HR tasks as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a generalist Human Resources role
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field.
- Knowledge of HR legislation and regulations including modern Awards National Employment Standards Fair Work Act Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and practices used within HR.
- Be passionate about people and unlocking their potential
- Ability to analyse data identify critical needs and bring innovative ideas that enable the organisation to change and grow
- Able to develop strong professional relationships with all internal/external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare reports policies and procedures and communicate these to all staff
- A systems thinker who has a passion for process improvement and problem solving
- High level of self-awareness placing importance on building trust respect and playing an active role in creating a positive team culture
- A positive fun and hardworking professional with a can do attitude!
- Previous experience using Employment Hero is desireable.
