This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health Pee Dee Mental Health Center 125 East Cheves Street Florence SC 29506.

This position provides Administrative Assistance to the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team who provides evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the Fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment rehabilitation and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options.

Responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant:
  • Ongoing coordinating and monitoring all non-clinical operations of the ACT Team including managing medical records operating and coordinating the management information system and maintaining accounting and budget records for the patient and program expenditures.
  • Enter and track team performance and patient outcome data as well as running reports on such data.
  • Actively participate in the daily team meeting assisting with organization and record keeping and scheduling activities.
  • Provide support to the team by receiving calls and responding to office walk-ins triaging and coordinating communication between the team and individuals.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures according to Corporate Compliance Fire and Safety and CARF. Shall comply with South Carolina Department of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties.
  • Complete all annual required trainings to include Safety MAPS Cultural Affairs and clinical trainings.
  • Demonstrate adherence to CARF standards and SCDBHDD and Center policies and procedures.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A Bachelors degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to lift 5lbs and operate a state vehicle.
  • Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disaster/emergencies.
  • Position will be part of the Assertive Community Treatment Team
  • Requires flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language).
