Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Test Analyst role on a 12-month contract. The role is fulltime based in Pretoria Gauteng.

The incumbent will join the Intelligence Automation (IA) Team in supporting the organisation in achieving its objectives by unlocking efficiencies in manual business processes through the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

Key responsibilities:

Analyze business and automation requirements to understand what the RPA bots and PowerApps solutions are expected to do.
Create test plans that define the scope objectives and approach for testing RPA bots and PowerApps solutions.
Design detailed test cases that cover various scenarios including edge cases to ensure all aspects of the functionality is tested.
Validate individual components or scripts to ensure they work as expected.
Execute functional integration non-functional and automated test cases and report on the software quality for the domain under test.
Ensure that any new changes or fixes do not break existing functionality.
Log any issues or defects found during testing with detailed steps to reproduce and expected vs. actual results.
Work closely with RPA and PowerApps developers to resolve identified defects.
Generate test summary reports to communicate the quality and readiness of applications under test.
Verify that the RPA bot PowerApps and Power Automate solution comply with regulatory requirements specific to the industry such as data privacy laws.
Maintain proper documentation of test plans test cases test scripts and test results.
Recommend improvements to the RPA bots and PowerApps solutions testing process based on lessons learned and best practices.
Work with business analysts RPA developers PowerApps developers project managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the software solutions.
Provide feedback during the design phase to help improve automation processes before they reach testing.
Keep up with the latest RPA and PowerApps tools testing methodologies and industry trends to enhance testing strategies and automation effectiveness.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

Must have an information technology-related diploma or degree
Must have a testing related certification at foundation level (e.g. ISTQB Foundation Certification)
Must have a minimum of five years experience in a Test Analyst/ Test Specialist/ Tester role within an IT environment.

Essential Skills:

Ability to analyse requirements identify defects and troubleshoot problems.
Effective communication with developers stakeholders and other team members.
Ability to identify and resolve defects.
Understanding various testing techniques and methodologies.
Understanding software development lifecycle.
Experience testing RPA (e.g. Blue Prism UIPath) and Microsoft PowerApps will be advantageous.
