Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Anesthesiology

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia as necessary
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and discuss anesthesia options with patients
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care
• Provide post-operative care and manage any anesthesia-related complications
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
• Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology practices and technologies

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Current board certification in Anesthesiology
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Experience in a clinical anesthesiology setting
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and pharmacology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and patient-centered approach

Schedule: Friday (5p-7a) or weekends (7a-7a)

Annual Volume: 3600 surgical cases

Case Types: Orthopedics L&D spine GI gynecology urology cath lab interventional radiology bariatric bypass and minimal vascular cases

Support Staff: Anesthesiologists CRNA and anesthesia tech

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
