Job Summary

Key job responsibilities
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of technicians through satellite integration operations. This individual will work closely with other launch operations and satellite manufacturing teams.
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell supports facility and equipment planning authors procedures implements process controls and supports continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical and collaborative setting and is able to interpret technical requirements and turn them into actionable steps.
Key job responsibilities
Planning workstation layouts for satellite integration optimized to eventually reach the planned processing rate
Planning material flow and implementing manufacturing processes for satellite integration
Integrating satellites onto dispensers
Continuously improving satellite integration and test processes
Interfacing with facilities personnel to set up and work within a payload processing facility
Evaluating and improving takt time
Authoring and implementing work instructions and standard processes
Resolving anomalies and implementing corrective actions
Operations will occur primarily on second shift Monday-Friday but off-shift and weekend work may be required depending on production/launch schedules
Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually either domestically or internationally as business needs demand
A day in the life
The satellite integration Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations. They will work with other engineering teams quality and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment. They will address root cause of failures and issues and implement production control and optimization strategies. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances.
The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test with particular focus on handling flight hardware or lifting and rigging systems.

- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent
- Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
- Experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly test and/or installation
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background check.
- Able to climb ladders work in tight spaces bending grasping sitting pulling pushing stooping and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
- Masters degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent
- 2 years of hardware development test lab space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) ESD sensitive hardware and in a clean room.
- Experience with forklifts cranes rigging and heavy equipment (including previous certifications).
- 1 years experience authoring and executing mechanical and test work instructions.
- Experience with hands-on satellite or other flight-hardware assembly build and integration rework repairs and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with electrically energized systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced processing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with handling and tracking systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines.
- 1 years experience defining test and operation requirements.
- Familiar with QTP/ATP production test methods and use of data acquisitions and collection systems.
- Familiar with satellite builds and launch operations.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
