(Senior) Associate, Global Manager Research Asia
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced investment professional to join our global manager research team. You will lead and support in-depth due diligence assessment and ongoing monitoring across active and passive investment strategies; and deliver independent well-structured recommendations and reporting to support decision-making across our institutional and wealth platforms. The level of responsibility and seniority will be calibrated based on the candidates experience and proven track record.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth ongoing quantitative and qualitative research on investment strategies and portfolio managers across asset classes including portfolio manager meetings to assess philosophy process team performance and risk to ensure success of strategies being covered; identify issues early and drive remediation. Apply a consistent approach to identify return/ risk drivers develop value propositions and produce decision-ready recommendations enhance processes to improve efficiency quality and productivity.
Strengthen the Global Manager Research teams center of expertise through adding value to the Global Wealth and Asset Management businesses with insights on investment manager analysis; foster strong partnership with key stakeholders across the company
Serve as the subject matter expert for the local and regional investment platforms in Asia; actively engage in boards and committees to advise product selection conduct platform analysis and support business growth and strategic initiatives.
Lead/support ad-hoc projects
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience in investment manager / mutual fund research due diligence and manager selection. strong grasp of global markets asset classes and the asset management industry (experience on multi-manager endowment sovereign buy-side or major consultant platforms is highly relevant).
Detail orientation with solid analytical and writing skills; ability to synthesize complex findings into clear actionable recommendations with a robust consistent framework
Ownership and accountability: prioritize multi-task and deliver end-to-end work independently while collaborating inclusively with global cross-disciplinary stakeholders
Growth mindset and proactivity: open to feedback commits to resolve problems end-to-end stewardship orientation and motivation to do what is right
Excellent communication and stakeholder management; confident presenting to diverse audiences and maintaining well-reasoned evidence-based views through rigorous discussion
Verbal and written proficiency in English and Mandarin and/or Cantonese
Knowledge of wealth retirement or investment-linked insurance scheme platforms across Asia preferred
Proficient with Morningstar Direct Lipper Bloomberg and other research packages
Post graduate degree CFA/CAIA preferred
