Job Summary

Permanent - Full time role starting Semester 2 2026

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for 122 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership learning and teaching pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant boarding academic cultural and sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses.

The Southport School is now seeking a full-time permanent Teacher of Industrial Technology Skills with experience in a workshop environment essential. An ability to teach Year 7-9 Design Digital Technologies or Engineering and Robotics will also be considered. We would like to work with and support candidates who have a passion for boys education and who understand how to engage students through their innovative and student outcome focused teaching practices.

In support of our School values of Teamwork Scholarship and Service we would like to engage with candidates who are relational in their teaching style whilst still ensuring a strong academic ethos in their classroom. Additionally we encourage our team to engage with our community outside of the classroom through our diverse co-curricular and extra-curricular programs including working closely with our Boarding community.

In addition to our extra-curricular and boarding opportunities we have a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing which encourages our teams to access our facilities such as our school gym swimming pool tennis courts and other staff wellbeing offerings and the opportunity to engage with many professional learning opportunities.

Along with referencing the criteria above candidate applications should:

  • Detail recent Industrial Technology teaching experience including workshop skills and any other Technologies Learning Area experience
  • Demonstrate their current use and integration of technology across the curriculum
  • Discuss innovative teaching practices and
  • Articulate proposed involvement in the school community through co-curricular or extra-curricular interests
