Job Summary

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Perform End-to-End Testing Across Investment Lifecycle
Design execute and validate comprehensive test scenarios covering the full lifecycle of financial instrumentsfrom trade origination through settlement to liquidation. Ensure accurate processing of transactions across asset classes such as Alternative Investments Private Debt and Public Securities. Validate seamless data flow between front-office systems (e.g. BlackRock Aladdin/ADC) and back-office platforms (e.g. SimCorp Dimension).
Develop and Maintain Automated Test Suites
Design implement and maintain scalable automated regression test suites using Tricentis Tosca. Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable efficient and reliable release cycles while minimizing manual testing efforts and improving overall test coverage.
Translate Business Requirements into Technical Test Specifications
Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Investment Finance Operations and Technology teams to understand business requirements. Convert these requirements into detailed structured and traceable test cases and test plans. Ensure alignment with business objectives while maintaining technical accuracy.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional and Vendor Teams
Work collaboratively with architecture teams vendors and third-party providers to support system upgrades integration testing and enhancements. Contribute to delivering project milestones within defined scope timelines and quality standards by following Agile methodologies.
Execute Data Reconciliation and Validation Testing
Perform reconciliation testing to verify the accuracy completeness and consistency of daily investment data (e.g. trades positions valuations). Identify discrepancies investigate root causes and work with relevant teams to resolve data inconsistencies.
Defect Identification and Management
Proactively identify document prioritize and track defects using standardized defect management tools (such as JIRA or ALM). Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting maintaining high-quality software delivery standards.
Support Agile Delivery and Continuous Improvement
Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning daily stand-ups retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes frameworks and best practices. Advocate for quality assurance standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Capital Markets & Financial Systems Expertise
Demonstrated experience working with investment management or capital markets systems including hands-on exposure to trade lifecycle processes (front-to-back office). Strong understanding of financial instruments such as equities fixed income derivatives and alternative investments.
SimCorp Dimension (SCD)
Practical experience with SimCorp Dimension particularly in areas such as trade processing accounting and data validation within investment operations.
BlackRock Aladdin / ADC
Experience working with Aladdin (or similar front/middle-office platforms) to support trade management analytics and integration workflows.
Test Automation using Tricentis Tosca
Proven ability to design develop and maintain automated test cases and regression suites using Tosca. Familiarity with model-based test automation and best practices for automation frameworks.
Data Platforms and Technologies
Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as:
oSnowflake (cloud-based data warehousing)
oDatabricks (data engineering analytics and processing)
Ability to perform data validation reconciliation and query-based analysis (SQL proficiency is highly desirable).
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to analyze complex datasets identify issues and troubleshoot discrepancies effectively. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Experience in Agile and CI/CD Environments
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices including CI/CD pipelines. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced iterative development environments.
Defect Management & Testing Tools
Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (e.g. JIRA HP ALM or equivalent) to manage testing lifecycle activities efficiently.
Communication & Collaboration Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technical domains in an inclusive and respectful manner.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80000$130000. This role is an existing vacancy.
