Hillbrook Anglican School is a co-educational secondary school of approximately 930 students in the inner-north Brisbane suburb of Enoggera. We exist to empower young people to make a positive difference - and everything we do is shaped by that purpose.
We are seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead how Hillbrook tells its story protects its reputation and stays connected with the people who matter most to us.
About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Principal and working closely with the School Leadership Team this role sits at the heart of school life. You will shape and drive our marketing and communications strategy steward Hillbrooks brand lead a small team and ensure the schools voice is consistent and genuine across every channel.
In practice that means developing communications plans managing media relationships writing and publishing content that captures authentic school life in classrooms at performances during Outdoor Education and at major events. The role is responsible for producing publications including our Prospectus annual Reflections and our published annual reports. You will be heavily involved in coordination of key events such as Tour Mornings and Graduation and help build and sustain connections with students and families (past present and future).
This role is genuinely embedded in the life of the school. You will work alongside teachers operational staff and the Leadership Team.
What you will bring
- Significant experience in a marketing and communications leadership role
- Exceptional writing and editorial skills with the ability to communicate with clarity and warmth
- Proven ability to design and deliver communications strategies across multiple channels
- Experience leading a team within a collaborative values-driven organisation
- Sound judgement and discretion particularly in media and reputational matters
- The relational skills to work respectfully with students families staff and external partners
- A genuine alignment with the inclusive Anglican ethos and community spirit of Hillbrook
Experience in an education or community-based setting is desirable though not essential. What matters most is that you understand what it means to communicate with care on behalf of a community people love.
