General Summary:
Reporting to the Director Deal Assessment in the Market Access and Contracting Organization (MACO) this role will support contracting initiatives and pricing analytics across the companys portfolio of products. This position will work closely with the Director of Contract Operations Market Access Strategy Gross-To-Net and Payer Account teams to review new and existing contracting opportunities present recommendations to senior leadership and work cross-functionally to ensure organizational alignment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills collaboration and the ability to quickly and effectively determine the value of potential contracting opportunities. This candidate will also need to be familiar with the PBM and Payer marketplaces as well as the impact that managed care agreements have on all stakeholders throughout the industry. This is a highly visible role that will be expected to build collaborative relationships with internal leadership US Market Access and Field Account stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead internal cross-functional contract meetings including reviews of pre-deal and post-deal analytics meeting logistics record keeping and distribution of meeting summary.
- Development of proactive ROI analyses for contracting opportunities and evaluation of performance on executed agreements
- Concise presentations of complex analyses and recommendations for leadership in support of decision making around contracting opportunities
- Ability to translate pricing strategy into prospective payer contracting concepts and archetypes for both leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Ownership and maintenance of brand specific ROI models and contract assessment assumptions
- Establish and maintain policies and applicable documentation (e.g. Contract Summary Report) in accordance with established departmental guidelines to support Sox compliance.
- Support Payer Access Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) and GTN team by assessing impact to business due to formulary changes.
- Maintain contract proposal tracker and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance of Payer/Provider customer contracts.
- Ensure successful contract data integration for new products and/or acquisitions.
- Utilize analytics generated from IQVIA/Symphony Payer Portal data rebate/chargeback data extracts and other ad-hoc data provisions.
- Ad-hoc projects to support Market Access and Business Unit functions as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of key Payer and customer segments relevant to brand products and the US Reimbursement System across major Payer segments (Managed Care Medicare Medicaid Federal).
- Capable of fostering relationships building alignment negotiating and collaborating with home office and field teams to develop key assumptions build tools deliver financial models and impactful business insights to enable optimal decision-making.
- Deep understanding of US Market Access environment including payer landscape role of PBMs (and PBM-GPOs) Hospital GPOs and IDNs medical coverage policies and reimbursement.
- Knowledge of traditional and innovative contracting approaches.
- Able to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain organizational awareness to various projects and work streams.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. finance accounting business administration).
- Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience in Strategic Pricing Payer/Provider Contracting HEOR and/or GTN analytics within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare Insurance Industry
- Progressive business experience in either: Finance Pricing Payer Account Management Government Pricing Contracting Analytics or other related areas
- Proven ability to effectively influence others without formal authority based on analytical evidence.
- Be self-motivated requiring minimal supervision and able to contribute as a team player.
- Ability to multitask shift gears and pivot when necessary and be comfortable working under constant deadlines.
- PC literacy required: MS Office skills (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
Pay Range:
$152000 - $228000Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors including skills competencies experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
