Qualifications:

Vice Principal of Curriculum Instruction & Assessments
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach English as a Second Language to Multilingual Learners (MLs) in an ESL classroom vocational classroom and/or co-teach in Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) classrooms
Co-teach and support MLs in a vocational setting with expectations to co-plan co-assess and co-reflect with co-teacher
Teach students at varying English Proficiency levels aligned to WIDA Standards
Develop and refine in-district ESL curriculum with a student centered relevant focus
Administer screeners and required state assessments
Create lessons for MLs to achieve language goals and objectives and keep families and caregivers informed about progress
Communicate regularly with families
Work with the Special Education department as applicable to discuss dually identified EL-SWD culturally and linguistically relevant IEP development accommodations and modifications aligned to MLs language proficiency level and disability
Actively collaborate with other members of the department and school community
Fulfills all duties and responsibilities contained in the contract between the Southeastern Regional School District Committee and the Southeastern Regional Teachers Association.
Meets and instructs assigned students/classes in the location and at the times designated including push in and pull out servicing of students needing support in building literacy skills.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and responsive to the interests of the students.
Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon the request of administrative personnel.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of behavior.
Strives to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis keeps accurate and timely records of student achievement and provides reports of student grades and progress as required.
Respects student confidentiality in all contact with any third party.
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
Conveys a high standard of personal deportment and attire.
Plans and promotes integration activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
EVALUATION: The Supervisor will evaluate performance of this position.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time school year plus three days.
