TRANSITION SPECIALIST / ISS ACADEMIC TUTOR
The Transition Specialist / ISS Academic Tutor provides support to students returning after an extended absence and/or facing disciplinary consequences that warrant an In-School Suspension. This role will support students academic social and emotional well-being to help them rejoin a full academic schedule. The position also serves as a liaison among a variety of stakeholders both inside and outside of the school setting requiring strong communication collaboration organizational and relationship-building skills to effectively coordinate supports and ensure student success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; experience in school counseling or student services is preferred
- Experience in working with middle-level students supporting them both academically and emotionally
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with administration teachers guidance counselors students and families
- Strong organization - tracking of student attendance and assignments
Salary commensurate with related experience.
