Salary Range: $52.56 - $69.34 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a clinical expert who promotes adherence to evidence based practice and is responsible for being aware of all evidence-based hospital initiatives.
- Serves as primary preceptor for new graduate nurses and new hires.
- Responsible for development of orientation process of new nurses
- Participates in the development of interdisciplinary care plans within the unit working with social work patient services coordinators medical providers and other staff in coordinating care.
- Serves as a mentor coach and educator for new and existing staff.
- Meets with the nurses at the beginning of the shift for Safety Huddle on specific safety issues on the unit such as; chart audits update on falls new protocols and other pertinent data related to patient care.
- Facilitates learning on the unit utilizing Benners model for clinical practice (novice advanced beginner competent proficient expert).
- Provides effective developmental feedback to assigned nurse in a constructive and tactful manner regarding performance and improvement in a timely manner.
- Utilizes effective problem solving strategies and resolves conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Facilitates learning using adult learning principles that stimulate problem-solving skills in the staff and encourages ongoing personal development of the individual staff members.
- Participates in the unit Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes and assists staff in meeting project deadlines on a monthly basis.
- Schedules ongoing assessments and goals for staff members in conjunction with the Nurse Executive.
- Facilitates and expands staff knowledge and professional growth.
- Collaborates with the clinical education department to provide unit specific training to staff.
- Collaborates with Nurse Executive to review and improve staff competencies and reports assign nurses progress.
- Completes all yearly Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required training by the indicated due dates.
- Assists promotes and supports compliance with established CMS standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Three (3) years nursing experience in Operating Room (OR) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Emergency Department (ED) involving direct patient care including two (2) years experience in providing education and training to nursing staff.
Education:
Associate of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
License:
Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in any U.S. State or Territory.
Certificate:
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain certification. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and maintain certification. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and maintain certification. Obtain valid certification in Moderate Sedation within one (1) month from date of hire and maintain certification. Obtain valid Emergency Nursing Association (ENA) certification in Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) within one (1) year from date of hire and maintain certification. Obtain valid Emergency Nursing Association (ENA) certification in Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within one (1) year from date of hire and maintain certification. Obtain valid American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one (1) year from date of hire and maintain certification.
