Job Summary
Our client is based in Pretoria and seeking an experienced Supply Chain Consultant for a 12-month renewable contract.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The SAP Supply Chain Functional Consultant is responsible for designing configuring and testing SAP Materials Management Sales & Distribution and other third-party functions and module solutions within the Purchase to Pay and Sales & Distribution business area as well as troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems aligned to operations - and service processes.
The desired candidate should have experience in functional design and implementation thereof within the sales distribution and purchase to pay process with strong experience in integration to 3rd party systems. The candidate should have sound knowledge of the mining value chain as well as IT service management principles and frameworks. The IT department is based in Centurion but the successful candidate will be required to work a hybrid model where a blend of onsite (Operations and IT Offices) as well as offsite work will be allowed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- A NQF level 6 or higher qualification in the Information Technology (IT) field essential.
- SAP S/4 HANA Sourcing & Procurement certification will be mandatory.
- Architectural and solution design and Implementation experience including full life cycle ASAP methodology business requirement collection business process analysis gap analysis realization final preparation training go-live support.
- A minimum of ten years experience in Materials Management and Sales & Distribution with at least five years experience in full cycle design and implementations.
- A minimum of five years experience in upstream and downstream Vendor Portal functionality (SAP Ariba or Coupa) with integration into Materials Management and other downstream SAP modules.
- Experience in designing and integrating MM and SD with other relevant SAP modules including 3rd party integrated systems.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management principles frameworks (ITIL) and Web technologies: HTML 5.
- Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate good interpersonal communication problem solving and project coordination skills.
- The successful candidate must have strong leadership and analytical skills with high attention to detail proficiency levels.
- High level of MS Office proficiency including Excel and Pivot Tables in order to analyse data.
- Experience with interacting with third party resources including offshore teams
- Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple activities
- Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements
- Good knowledge of SAP authorization roles objects and basic reports to troubleshoot missing authorizations
- Experience with design of a reporting strategy and delivering reports in a BI space
- Knowledge of Logistics Supply Chain leading practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a trusted advisor to business process owners translating operational and compliance requirements into SAP standard configuration and governed solutions.
- Assess and lead integration efforts related to cross-functional projects between materials management and other modules such as PM FI and CO Ariba.
- Develop design test and validate SAP configuration/customizing RICEF requirement objects (Reports Interfaces Conversions Enhancements and Workflow) either as production support initiatives or new projects
- Work with the SAP security team on resolving authorization issues and provide recommendations on optimal security setup for ongoing projects requirements
- Work with the development team by providing functional specifications for new RICEF development unit test and manage the changes through the SAP landscape
- Work independently with business process owners and business leads on presenting new solutions leading workshops from scoping phase through realization phase of the projects
- Provide functional specifications and functional support to ABAP developers for reports interfaces enhancements workflows IDOCs and integrations.
- Monitoring inbound / outbound flow of production orders shipments and invoices to check for workflow notifications and resolve error messages.
- Create test scenarios for unit testing and integration testing for all PTP business processes and obtain sign-off after successful completion of testing.
- Ensure SAP S/4 HANA solutions comply with:
o Internal IT governance frameworks
o Procurement policies delegations of authority and approval frameworks
o Audit risk segregation-of-duties requirements and cyber
o Support internal and external audits with complete accurate documentation.
- Design solutions that are resilient to operational disruptions (remote sites connectivity change constraints).
- Monitoring inbound / outbound flow of interfaces and resolve error messages.
- Ensure adherence to all IT governance frameworks including policies procedures processes and standards.
- Ensure adherence to ways of working to ensure the right level of governance is executed and all documentation is accurately maintained and available.
- Update and maintain known error database knowledge base configuration database as well as testing and training material and implement a continuous improvement plan to improve the portfolio solutions.
- Perform SAP Note Implementations (Functional & Security)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:
This role includes both project delivery and BAU support responsibilities where the successful candidate will:
- Drive end-to-end functional delivery of SAP S/4 HANA initiatives (Projects BAU).
- Own functional resolution of MM/SD incidents (L2 / L3)
- Support month-end year-end and operationally critical business cycles
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities within existing processes
- Functional quality stability and audit readiness of the SAP platform.
- Business adoption process compliance and value realization.
- Proactive risk and dependency management across integrations.
