Job Summary
The Product Line Manager (PLM) for the Communications Products Business Unit is a high-impact customer-facing role that bridges the gap between Operations Engineering and Sales. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of communications-centric silicon photonics products. Oversee revenue lines for communications-specific products and serve as the primary internal and external contact for project schedules contracts and financial health.
The ideal candidate will combine rigorous program managementtracking schedules deliverables and spendwith strategic account management to ensure world-class customer satisfaction within our communications integration platform.
Essential Responsibilities
- Customer Onboarding: Facilitate new project setups (code names/IDs) across Finance IT and Ops. Lead customer kickoff meetings and establish regular status review cadences.
- Execution & Tracking: Establish project plans schedules and deliverables. Identify issues in project spend or timelines and provide creative solutions. Coordinate weekly status updates and proactively identify risks.
- Vendor & Material Management: Procure 3rd-party services manage WIP starts/changes in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and track customer-supplied materials.
- Resource Procurement: Identify external suppliers and manage purchase requisitions for materials needed to support communications projects.
- Customer Feedback: Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and manage Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys to drive quality improvements.
Import/Export & ITAR Management
Compliance Leadership: Act as the first line of contact for ITAR/EAR/FAR compliance questions.
- Registrations: Maintain and ITAR registrations to facilitate government-related communications contracts.
- Financial Resolution: Resolve issues related to budgets and invoicing. Assemble credit memos and resolve financial discrepancies or NCR (Non-Conformance Report) errors.
- Revenue Forecasting: Generate and monitor revenue forecasts weekly reporting directly to senior management on the health of the communications business line.
- Revenue Growth: Identify opportunities within existing accounts to amplify the communications product footprint.
- Commercial Strategy: Support Sales VPs in contract negotiations initial project scoping and the execution of NDAs.
- Efficiency Advocacy: Suggest internal measures to increase profitability and operational efficiency within the CPBU.
- Logistics & MES: Manage shipment notifications customer-supplied material tracking and lot change requests in the MES.
Competencies & Skills
- Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes particularly the complexities of Silicon Photonics or III-V materials.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to effectively set priorities across functional areas (Finance Ops Sales) to meet company revenue goals.
- Communication: Extraordinary written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical status and business metrics to diverse stakeholders.
- Operational Discipline: Self-starter with extreme attention to detail and the ability to multi-task across competing priorities.
- Professionalism: Maintains a positive professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Mastery: Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent technical programs with strict deadlines.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 37 years of professional experience in program management account management sales operations or order management within the semiconductor or high-tech industry.
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite (specifically Excel for forecasting and project tracking).
- Technical Literacy: Advanced Excel skills for forecasting and financial modeling.
- Vendor & Material Management: Procure and schedule 3rd-party services as required. Manage WIP starts/changes in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) track customer-supplied materials and oversee order shipments.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify project bottlenecks and escalate critical issues to senior management with proposed recovery plans.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Environment: Temperature-controlled open cubicle setting with conversational noise.
- Physical: Stationary positioning for 8 hours; prolonged viewing of computer monitors.
- Travel: Less than 25% anticipated.

Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled open cubicle setting. Frequent interruptions and conversational noise can be expected. This role may also require occasional work in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment.

Compensation and Benefits
Skorpios embraces a Total Compensation philosophy that includes a base salary and eligibility for overtime for non-exempt roles.

Expected salary range: 135000 to $175000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The actual starting rate will be determined based on role-related criteria including educational qualifications or equivalent experience relevant work history and the skills required for the role.
