Warehouse Operator

This Warehouse Operator position works directly with a client or group of clients in assisting in all aspects of the SKF warehousing and distribution functions.

Ensuring the cost effective safe and efficient delivery of customer orders to both internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinating expediting and issuing of third-party logistics activities within the warehouse.
• Management of return logistics.
• Responsible for SAP EM/TM
• Creating manifest from SAP system for security checks and MMR for containers/LCL and air freight
• DANA 3 SPL WHS Monthly cycle counts liaising with customer services regarding mismatch SKU. Uploading of shipments into Cargo Write. Unpacking of shipments in DOH. Proving weekly reports on stock on hand to sales representative.
• Supervising the overall receiving and receipting of all shipments namely air and sea freights and buy outs.
• Supervising the correctness accuracy and timely putaway activities on the DWM (Distribution Warehouse Module) system.
• Supervise the balancing and accuracy between purchase orders and incoming shipments.
• Ensure that all inbound transfers on DWM are process within the agreed lead times.
• Planning organising and controlling of all inbound warehouse operations.
• Together with the warehouse manager set targets monitor and improve warehouse inbound productivity and turnaround times.
• Together with the warehouse manager identify causes of problems and bottlenecks initiating corrective and preventative actions.
• Responsible for complying to all inbound processes to ensure optimal service levels of the team to meet customer requirements.
• Supervising the reconciliation of the open jobs stock availability of jobs and manage the shortages with inventory planner.
• Management of IBT (Internal branch transfers).
• Manage the checking of stock returned by field service technicians.
• Management of locations correct put away and binning of kardex.
• Conducting of cycle counts and annual stock takes.
• Ensure that all reverse logistics are attended to.
• Managing of all supplier errors on the Intelex.
• Adhere to SKF Code of Conduct Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality Policies and work according to the SKF Quality Management System and SKF EHS Management System including meeting the requirements for ISO 9000 ISO 14000 and ISO 18000.
• Maintain housekeeping of warehouse area.
• Continuously improve all inbound operations to increase efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Will spend time at a desk working on a computer and attending meetings
• Will be required to operate machinery licensed to use.
• Flexible to work after hours weekends and standby.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• High paced position where continuous multitasking is required.
• High levels of concentration required where the workload will vary every day. The ability to go from one topic to another is essential.
• Required to be self-motivated and able to make decisions within delegated responsibility.
• Expected to react to unpredictable operational requirements of an ad-hoc nature.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Management of 3PL providers.
• 5 years of transport warehouse and logistics experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of IT systems including DOH COH DWM.
• Extensive knowledge of SKF and Lubrication Products.
• Sound knowledge of transportation and distribution.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

• Formal tertiary qualification Transport/ Warehouse Management.
