About this role:
Your core responsibilities in this role are to ensure plant equipment is kept in excellent operational order with great reliability achieved through well-tabled preventative maintenance and dealing efficiently and quickly with breakdowns while adhering to robust safety standards. As a Fitter and Turner you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various components machinery equipment utilities and facilities ensuring their optimal functionality and performance.
In this role you will:
- Inspect diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and some electrical problems in various machines and equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools machining equipment and welding equipment.
- Install new machinery and equipment ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machines and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams manuals and blueprints to determine repair and maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while working on machines and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
To succeed in this role you need:
- Fully Qualified Fitter Turner or Maintenance Engineer ideally with completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
- Basic electrical knowledge is an advantage.
- Knowledge in the operation of air compressors mixers filling machines conveyors tanks pumps and motors.
- Previous maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment that involves (liquid and powder) blending mixing filling labelling capping and batch coding equipment.
- A working knowledge of NZ Health & Safety Standards
