We announce the following ELEMENTARY TEACHING vacancy in the Rochester Community Schools for the 2026-27 school year.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
INSTRUCTIONAL INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
MCGREGOR ELEMTNARY1.0 FTE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in area of responsibility.
- Bachelors degree with major in curricular area.
- MA in Education or other related program.
- Minimum of five years experience in the classroom.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with at-risk students.
- Demonstrated proficiency in collecting and analyzing student achievement data.
- Ability to collaborate with learning consultant to create interventions to improve student performance in designated content areas.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and experience in utilizing a multi-tiered system of supports.
- Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and the building learning consultant to identify at-risk students for intervention.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide comprehensive support to building staff in order to ensure student success through collaboration coaching and intervention.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with building learning consultant to coordinate support of core instruction and the design of interventions for identified students.
- Consults with the general education teacher and learning consultant to identify students needs.
- Evaluates students by conducting the appropriate diagnostic tests analyzing and interpreting results.
- Work directly with staff and students in classrooms on implantation of instructional practices that builds upon teacher and student strengths to foster an equitable and culturally responsive learning environment.
- Facilities grade level meetings.
- Work with some students over summer and after school hours depending on program needs in discussion with the principal.
- Willingness to attend professional development in areas as identified by building administrator.
- Performs other duties identified by the building administrator to support student achievement.
