The opportunity
The team at HVDC Products are designing manufacturing and testing the converter valves for HVDC and SVC applications. Hitachi Energy is looking for a Valve Cooling Project Engineer.
The Valve cooling system is a pressurized closed loop system with air cooled heat exchangers to dissipate power losses generated in high power converter valves. It is designed to meet the HVDC and Client requirements regarding performance reliability and low maintenance. Our systems consist of pumps vessels filters measuring devices heat exchangers interconnecting piping and redundant control and protection systems.

How youll make impact
- By following the established HVDC processes you will be onboarded as an engineer and get acquainted with the technology.
- After onboarding you will be involved in a project as a support resource and go through the journey of a Cooling System engineer.
- The cooling system engineer creates the requirement specifications for the cooling systems reviews the documentation from suppliers clarifies technical points with clients and suppliers and participate on testing of the cooling systems for HVDC projects.
- The position requires sporadic travelling and working at suppliers facilities to perform system test (a period of one week a few times per year. Site travelling can also happen both for work and learning purposes.

Your background
- You are a committed team member who is interested in technology and ready to support and be supported by our Cooling System team.
- You hold a bachelors or masters degree within electrical electronic or mechanical engineering
- Experienced professionals or fresh out of university are welcome to apply
