Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Job Summary
- Develop and execute theengineering strategy for the Largo site with strong emphasis on the Precision Machining Factory
- Serve as the senior engineering leader for machining operations providing technical strategic and operational direction
- Align engineering roadmaps with safety quality delivery cost and growth objectives
- Act as a key member of the site leadership team influencing decisions that impact manufacturing performance and longterm capability
- Lead engineering support forprecision machining processes including equipment tooling fixtures automation and process optimization
- Drive standardization scalability and robustness across machining operations
- Champion adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies digital manufacturing tools and automation where appropriate
- Serve as asitelevel advisor and thought partnerfor Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Operations Quality and CI leaders to identify prioritize and execute highimpact improvement opportunities
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and problemsolving methodologies to deliver sustainable improvements in safety quality cost and delivery
- Mentor leaders and engineers in structured problem solving datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvement behaviors
- Lead coach and develop manufacturing engineering managers engineers and technicians
- Build a strong engineering talent pipeline and succession plan for the Largo site
- Foster a culture of accountability innovation inclusivity and technical excellence
- Set clear expectations performance goals and development plans for the engineering organization
- Provide senior engineering leadership fornew product introductions ensuring manufacturing readiness and smooth transitions to production
- Partner closely with R&D Quality and Operations to integrate new technologies and processes
- Support product and process lifecycle management including design changes capacity expansion and cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure engineering processes comply withFDA regulations ISO 13485 and CONMED quality system requirements
- Oversee development and maintenance of robust process documentation (Work Instructions PFMEAs control plans validations)
- Support audits inspections CAPAs and continuous quality system improvement
- Lead sitelevel engineering input for capital planning related to CNC machining automation and infrastructure
- Manage capital projects endtoend including equipment selection installation commissioning and validation
- Ensure effective prioritization and deployment of engineering resources to maximize business impact
- Define and monitor engineering KPIs and performance metrics aligned with site and enterprise goals
- Communicate progress risks and opportunities effectively to site leadership and functional stakeholders
- Leverage data and analytics to drive decisions and track measurable results
- Bachelors degree inMechanical Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering(Masters degree preferred)
- 8 yearsof progressive manufacturing engineering experience preferably inmedical device manufacturing
- 5 yearsof people management and leadership experience including managing managers or senior engineers
- 8 years experience inCNC machining precision manufacturing and process optimization
- Demonstrated leadership inFDAregulated ISO 13485 environments
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Beltcertification
- Experience leadingsitelevel or factorylevel engineering strategy
- Background in automation digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 initiatives
- Experience leading crossfunctional initiatives and influencing without direct authority
- Proficiency inCAD systems ERP/MES platforms (e.g. SAP)and data analysis tools
- Excellent communication strategic thinking and changeleadership skills
