Job Summary

The Shared Services - Student Wellness Center (SWC) department is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Resource Operations Specialist to support fiscal administrative and people operations. This role plays a critical part in advancing student health and well-being by optimizing financial resources supporting student employment programs and ensuring efficient operational processes across the SWC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts receivable billing operations and financial reporting
  • Manage insurance billing reconciliation and compliance with CSU and SJSU policies
  • Support audits internal controls and financial analysis
  • Coordinate recruitment onboarding and position management for staff and student employees
  • Administer student employment processes including hiring payroll and workforce planning
  • Maintain employee records and support people operations functions
  • Develop reports dashboards and operational documentation
  • Collaborate with campus partners to improve processes and resolve operational challenges

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to analyze financial data apply accounting principles and make accurate financial projections using business mathematics and statistical techniques
  • Keen skills in budget tracking and organizing complex data
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining databases tracking financial data and organizing complex data; ability to generate accurate reports
  • Ability to learn interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to student health programs and their administration
  • Knowledge of public and business administration principles fiscal management and operational procedures
  • Strong organizational coordination and policy interpretation skills; ability to plan prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service and public relations abilities; effective communication across a variety of venues including English grammar business writing and comprehension
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Ability to work independently exercise sound judgment and make constructive recommendations
  • Demonstrated attention to detail accuracy and sustained focus on routine and complex tasks
  • Familiarity with best practices for collaborating with department managers staff and the general public

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree and/or equivalent training
  • Four (4) years of administrative work experience involving study analysis and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Public Administration or related field
  • At least three (3) years of experience using administrative practices and procedures including project management
  • Experience working within a higher education environment
  • At least two (2) years of experience with hourly employee position management including student employees and/or per diem employees
  • At least two (2) years of experience working within a healthcare facility including medical billing
  • Demonstrated experience working with highly confidential processes

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $7066/month - $7649/month (Step 11 Step 15)
CSU Salary Range: $5797/month - $8445/month (Step 1 Step 20)
