Structural Engineer

• Support structural engineering and multi-disciplinary design projects during the planning design and construction phases of engineering projects.
• Prepare calculations drawings and specifications related to seismic and wind analyses foundation design structural framing analyses and design and bracing analyses and design.
• Perform structural analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to evaluate structures.
• Perform shell analysis activities including glovebox shell analysis or similar structural shell evaluations.
• Support the development and review of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and project requirements.
• Conduct construction document reviews field verifications and facility walkdowns as required.
• Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines project teams and customer stakeholders.
• Provide engineering support during construction activities including submittal reviews RFIs and technical evaluations as needed.
• Organize and execute assigned work efficiently within project schedules and deadlines.
• Perform all work under quality assurance requirements in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate project status updates to project leadership.
• Promote a culture of safety quality and professionalism in all work activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of three (3) years of related structural engineering experience.
• Experience with structural analysis and design and a strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations drawings and specifications.
• Experience utilizing structural analysis software such as or GTSTRUDL.
• Experience performing shell analysis including glovebox shell analysis or similar structural shell evaluations preferred.
• Strong technical communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time support role.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred.
• Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries preferred.
• PE License with ability to obtain licensure in Tennessee preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word Excel PowerPoint and SharePoint.
