Position Title: Physical Therapist Acute Care Hospital
Location: Lubbock TX 79410
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (high possibility of extension or permanent placement)
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM 05:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Job Summary:
Provide acute care physical therapy services including evaluation treatment mobility training and rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic and neurologic conditions in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical therapy evaluations and patient assessments
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Provide gait training and mobility assistance
- Deliver therapeutic exercises for recovery and strength
- Treat post-op orthopedic and neurologic conditions
- Educate patients and families on recovery and home exercise programs
- Document all care and treatment plans in EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year acute care Physical Therapy experience required
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
- Active Texas PT license or compact license required
- BLS certification required
- EPIC experience required
- Strong skills in gait training mobility and patient assessment
- Experience with stroke spinal cord injury Parkinsons and orthopedic rehab preferred
- First-time travelers accepted

- Facility: Short Term Acute Care Hospital (379 beds Level II Trauma Center)
- Patient population: Adolescents Adults Geriatrics
