Job Title: IS Specialist

Salary: 66079 to 82599 per annum dependent upon experience

Location: Shrewsbury Shropshire

About IPSD

Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) has worldwide responsibility for the design and manufacturing of 0.5L-18L engines as well as worldwide responsibility for sales support and marketing of industrial engines 0.5-64L and Caterpillar Defense. IPSD products are sustainably manufactured marketed sold and supported under the Cat and Perkins brands including diesel gas alternative fuels hybrids and electric solutions. IPSDs portfolio also includes the Energy & Transportation Procurement organization which is responsible for sourcing strategies throughout the lifecycle of our products and services. Job Summary

Consults and leads projects for a wide range of technology related issues for customers to meet their business objectives while adhering to standards and processes for QAD manufacturing and assembly plants. Type of work includes: Solution Governance Solution Design Solution Estimating Deployment Optimization and Level 4 Support of all QAD templates.

What You Will Do

Solution Governance / Deployment

• Ensuring solution design is consistent with defined EA and/or P2P application roadmaps

• Ensuring solution design accounts for and is consistent with P2P lifecycle management

• Performing validation and sign-off of 3rd Party deliverables (i.e. coding testing documentation)

Design

• Gathering business requirements

• Documenting functional / technical specifications for solution development

• Documenting master data requirements for solution development testing and execution

• Documenting test scenarios for solution validation (i.e. unit string integration and UAT)

• Representing solution design in integrated design reviews prior to development hand-off

Level 4 Support

• Providing process / deep technical support to facilitate resolution of production incidents

• Ensuring change requests are appropriate and consistent with application roadmaps

Communication

• Working with Cat partners GIS peers and 3rd Party providers

• Providing weekly updates regarding status risk issues to BU and GIS leadership

Optimization

• Identify and train facilities to utilize template solutions

What You Have

Degree requirements:

• Bachelors degree in IT or other technology related degree

Technical skills:

• Knowledge of current QAD architecture as well as QADs technical direction and long-term roadmaps.

• Working background in Manufacturing Manufacturing Engineering Mfg Quality and Machine Maintenance

Experience:

• IT experience along with ERP related experience (can be concurrent)

• Digital Manufacturing or Shop Floor experience

Business knowledge:

• Strong customer focus and ability to influence

• Ability to quickly understand technology changes and drive advancement within the organization

• Ability to understand both technology and business domains

• Knowledge of business operations including the technical infrastructure and general business processes.

Additional Info

• Up to 15% travel (mainly UK/US)
