Job Goal:
To direct and support the overall planning development implementation and evaluation of operations programs and services. These areas include Transportation and Maintenance.
Qualifications (minimum education licensure skills and/or experience):
- Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- At least five (5) years of successful management experience in a complex organization. Experience in facilities management logistics or large-scale operations is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee central office operational departments/functions (includes Transportation and Maintenance). Manage and evaluate activities and personnel in operations to ensure quality of services provided and compliance with both board policy and with federal state and location regulations.
- Develop annual budget with Supervisors and the Chief Financial Officer for areas of responsibility for the Superintendents approval as well as ensure cost effectiveness of divisional operations per approved budgets.
- Ensure accurate records and reports are developed maintained and forwarded to appropriate authorities.
- Review repair project requests and material requisitions.
- Act as liaison with the Board other divisions of the school system and other agencies and organizations on matters related to facilities construction management transportation maintenance safety and energy consumption.
- Work with principals/building administrators and other personnel to support planning and evaluation of school facilities.
- Analyze current energy usage and develop the districts energy management plan to provide proper environmental conditions with cost effective energy utilization.
- Assist with the development implementation and approval of contracts agreements and leases with administrators facilities managers engineers architects attorneys etc.
- Train and motivate employees at each facility and department related to safety
- Work to ensure compliance with workers compensation and A.D.A. regulations and to assure compliance with procedures related to internal investigations.
- Assist in equitable solutions of complaints concerns and problems in the areas of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain intergovernmental relations with municipalities and parish/city personnel
- Ensure that performance observations and evaluations are made of all subordinates within the division as described in the parish Personnel Evaluation Plan.
- Attend all board meetings and assigned committee meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Serve as a member of the Superintendents Leadership Team.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent travel within the district and occasionally outside the district for meetings site visits and events.
- Prolonged periods of both standing and sitting during meetings presentations and administrative tasks.
- Extended periods of time using a computer for data analysis report generation and communication.
- Occasional lifting or carrying of materials such as paperwork laptops or other office-related items.
Terms of Employment: 12 months
Salary: 1.26 index
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel (Bulletin 130).
